Dunes Beach

- This beach is located at the end of Young Avenue off Highway 1 in Half Moon Bay, San Mateo County. Young Ave. is located north of the Highway 1 / Highway 92 intersection. Enter the gate for Half Moon Bay State Beach and follow signs to Dunes Beach (north of Roosevelt Beach). Park in the southern end of the lot, near the trail.

- There are portable toilets located in the parking lot.
- Site description:
- To reach the monitoring site, walk over the dunes to the end of the trail that leads from the parking lot to the beach. Typically a high-energy beach, surf zone can be steep. Be very careful when monitoring.
- Permit and visitor information:
- This is one of four Half Moon Bay State Beaches. No permit is required for monitoring; however, if you plan to collect crabs for parasite analysis, a fishing license or scientific collecting permit is needed.
