Directions:
Also known as Pacifica State Beach, located in Pacifica, San Mateo County. From 280, take the Highway 1 exit to Pacifica. Continue another 5 miles. After light at Crespi Ave, look for entrance to parking area on right at the beach (right before Taco Bell.) If you reach light at Linda Mar (Pedro Point), you have gone too far. Park at northern edge of lot, near the bathrooms.

Site description:
To reach the monitoring site, walk to the north of the bathrooms and down to the water. San Pedro Creek empties into the ocean at this wide, mile-long pocket beach. The creek is known for having poor water quality. The north dunes are habitat for the threatened snowy plover.
Permit and visitor information:
This state beach is operated by the city of Pacifica. No permit is required for monitoring; however, if you plan to collect crabs for parasite analysis, a fishing license or scientific collecting permit is needed.
