Directions:
Located in San Mateo County, approximately 20 miles south of San Francisco. The beach is located eight miles north of Half Moon Bay on Highway 1. There are two access points from the bluff area. Park at the access point across from Second Street, immediately south of the Outrigger restaurant. The path down to the beach is steep.
Restrooms:
There are no bathrooms at this site.
Site description:
To reach the monitoring site, park at the southern access point, near the Outrigger restaurant. The site is located at the end of the trail to the beach.
Permit and visitor information:
The surf zone can be steep and waves can be large at this beach. Be very careful when working in the swash zone. No permit is required for monitoring; however, if you plan to collect crabs for parasite analysis, a fishing license or scientific collecting permit is needed.
