Pescadero State Beach

- Directions:
- The beach is located 14.5 miles south of Half Moon Bay on Highway 1. There are three separate parking areas/units: North Pescadero, Middle/Central Pescadero, and South Pescadero. Driving south on Highway 1, as you come down a hill, turn right into the N. Pescadero State Beach parking lot. If you have crossed the bridge, you have gone too far. Driving north on Highway 1, the parking lot is located 1 mile north of Pescadero Road. After you have crossed the bridge, you will turn left into the parking lot. Once parked, use the path on the south side of the parking lot to reach the beach. Please note that the North Pescadero parking lot has a self-registered parking fee.

- Portable toilets are located in the parking area.
- Site description:
- After monitoring the beach, visit Pescadero Marsh Natural Preserve. This is a fantastic spot to see blue herons nesting in the trees, kites, deer, raccoons, foxes and skunks.
- Permit and visitor information:
- No permit is required for monitoring; however, if you plan to collect crabs for parasite analysis, a fishing license or scientific collecting permit is needed.
