El Capitan State Beach

- The beach is located off Highway 101 seventeen miles west of Santa Barbara. Take the 101N past Goleta and drive until you reach the El Capitán signs. The road will take you right into the park. The park is approximately 10 miles out of town. There is an entrance fee for daily use, approximately $8 per vehicle.

- Site description:
- This state beach has a sandy beach, rocky tidepools, and stands of sycamore and oaks along El Capitán Creek. El Capitán Creek flows through a forested canyon to the tidepools.
